Verdi's AIDA at the Royal Albert Hall

One nights from £229pp departing on 02 March 2012

No opera matches the grandeur and spectacle of Verdi's AIDA.

Following the huge public and critical acclaim of Madam Butterfly, Carmen, Tosca and La Boheme, the Royal Albert Hall have announced a brand new production of Verdi's awe inspiring masterpiece.

For this all new staging, distinguished director Stephen Medcalf, together with set and costume designs by the renowned Isabella Bywater, will re-create a mystical world within the ruins of Ancient Egypt. Staged in-the round, the deadly action will unfold in the very heart of the Royal Albert Hall with the audience on all sides.

This epic work explores the devastating consequences of a classic love triangle between Aida the Ethiopian slave girl, the King's daughter, Amneris, and Captain of the Guard, Radames, whom they both love. Culminating with the final entombment as the opera draws to its tragic close, this intense drama gave Verdi the perfect opportunity to compose some of his most poignant arias and memorable music.
