Shrek the Musical is a stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animation Shrek. This musical follows the life of a huge green ogre and his trusty loyal steed, as they set off on a quest in a land far, far away to rescue a beautiful princess from a dragon guarded tower. But the journey isn’t going to be as straightforward as first thought as they must battle many fairytale superstars along the way. Based on the first chapter of the popular animation Shrek is guaranteed to excite audiences of all ages.
An all star cast will take to the stage in Shrek the Musical for a mix of magic, laughter and romance. Nigel Lindsay will take on the role of Shrek with Richard Blackwood as his sidekick Donkey. Amanda Holden will play Princess Fiona and Nigel Harman will complete this fantastic cast as the role of Lord Farquaad, the King with a height complex.
With more layers than ever seen before, Shrek the Musical features all new songs as well as the Shrek classic “I’m a believer” that will sure to have audiences singing along and dancing in the aisles.
Entertaining theatre goers since 1663 the Theatre Royal Drury Lane was renowned for its Victorian Melodramas and pantomimes. But from the 1920’s onwards it has been home to modern musicals and from May onwards will become home to Shrek the Musical.
Performance times for Shrek the Musical are as follows:
Evenings: Mon and Wed to Sat at 19:30.
Matinees: Thu, Sat and Sun at 15:00.
Please note the minimum child age for Shrek the Musical is 4.
