Seville & the Costa del Sol

November 2011 & March 2012

8 days from £569

This superb value holiday gives you the chance to escape our winter, relax on the  southern Spanish coast and enjoy the wonders of Andalucia. The first four nights are spent in the delightful town of Rincon de la Victoria on the Costa del Sol followed by two nights in Seville before returning to the Costa del Sol for your final night.

PROGRAMME

Day One: Direct flight to Malaga. On arrival transfer to your hotel (approx. 20 minutes) for four nights half board accommodation. Your base is the beachside town of Rincon de la Victoria, with excellent, low-cost local transport connections to the city of Malaga, less than 10 miles away.

Days Two to Four: Free time to explore the Costa del Sol and Malaga. Your Tour Director will be on hand to advise how best to get around. There will be a full day included excursion to Granada, overlooking the Sierra Nevada, (transfer time approx. 1½ hrs.) with included entrance to the Alhambra complex. There will also be a half day optional excursion to the white-painted hilltop village of Frigiliana and to Nerja, famed for its balcony overlooking the sea and caves.

Day Five: Today you transfer to Seville, which is approximately 3 hours drive. You will have two nights bed and breakfast accommodation in your centrally located hotel. A description of the city is opposite. There are two optional excursions during your stay in Seville. The first is a morning sightseeing tour with local guide. The tour includes a drive past the Tower of Gold, the Expo Area, the University, the Macarena Quarter, and a stop at the impressive Plaza de Espana. There is then a short escorted walk through the Jewish quarter, and a visit to the cathedral. Our other excursion features an evening trip to a Flamenco show.

Day Six: Free in Seville.

Day Seven: Morning departure for Cordoba, just under two hours away. You will have plenty of time to explore the city or to join our optional guided walking tour of Cordoba with included entrance to the world-famous Mezquita - founded in 785 by Abd ar-Rahman I, but then adapted and adopted by the Christian Kings of Spain – they built a cathedral in it! You then head back to the coast, a couple of hours to the south, for your last night in Rincon, again on a half board basis.

Day Eight: Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
